New Tampa Unplugged: MJR Latin Project

Inspired by the hit show MTV Unplugged, the New Tampa Unplugged concert series presents acoustic performances by notable Tampa Bay-area musicians. The theater is transformed into a unique, living-room-style venue with candlelit cabaret seating and a cash bar for an up-close, intimate concert experience.

Experience the vibrant sounds of the MJR Latin Project, Tampa Bay’s premier Latin‑jazz ensemble led by Cuban bassist and composer Mauricio J. Rodríguez. Featuring top regional talent, including Grammy-winning saxophonist Zach Bornheimer, pianist Pablo Arencibia, drummer Andy Fornet, and Cuban percussionist Carlos Javier Navarro, the group delivers an electrifying fusion of modern Cuban music and Latin jazz classics.

Approximate run time: three hours.
