New Tampa Unplugged: O Som Do Jazz
Inspired by the hit show MTV Unplugged, the New Tampa Unplugged concert series presents acoustic performances by notable Tampa Bay-area musicians. The theater is transformed into a unique, living-room-style venue with candlelit cabaret seating and a cash bar for an up-close, intimate concert experience.
O Som Do Jazz captures the spirit of 1960s-70s Brazilian bossa nova, samba-jazz, MPB, and baião featuring Rio de Janeiro-born singer Andrea Moraes Manson and an international crew of jazz musicians.
The sextet has four albums and original music placed in television shows across HBO, BBC, and Fox. Players include Andrea Moraes Manson (vocals), Alex Malkovich (sax), John O'Leary (piano), Alejandro Arenas (bass), Mark Feinman (drums), and David Manson (trombone).
Approximate run time: three hours.
